RISE’s transportation initiative focuses on addressing the transportation challenges that limit access to industrial employment opportunities across the region. The Transportation Working Group recognizes that reliable and efficient transportation is essential for workforce participation and economic growth.

Through collaboration of local governments, employers and community organizations, the team explores innovative approaches to enhance mobility, and strengthen connectivity for both current and future members of the industrial workforce.

The group’s key objectives include evaluating the need for on-demand and flexible transportation services that can adapt to varying work schedules and regional demands. It also aims to research and analyze best practices in regional transportation strategies that have successfully improved access to employment in similar areas. Finally, the group explores scalable and sustainable transportation models tailored to the evolving needs of employers and workers—ensuring that as industries grow, transportation solutions grow as well.
